CHERRIES
🍒 Cherry Simple Syrup Recipe
This syrup is sweet, tangy, and a perfect base for mocktails, lemonade, or drizzling over desserts.
You’ll need:
1 cup cherries (rinsed, pits can stay in)
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
Directions:
Add cherries, water, and sugar to a small saucepan.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, smashing the cherries a bit as they soften.
Remove from heat and let cool.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove solids and pits. (if you do not have these, you can use a flour sack towel or normal strainer) Note: The cherries may stain your towel.
Store syrup in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
💡 Farm Tip:
Save the strained cherry pulp! Stir it into yogurt, oatmeal, or bake it into muffins for a zero-waste treat.
